Atlas Trek Adventure
Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Rissani – Merzouga
Having breakfast is followed leaving Fez toward Merzouga. During thre journey, we will travel through the beautiful city of Ifrane and stop to visit Cedar Fores (the largest wood-land in Morocco where monkeys live). The journey continues until we stop to have lunch in Midelt. After that, we will drive alongside Ziz River (the longest river in Morocco). Before we reach Merzouga, we will stop to enjoy the views of Ziz Gorges.
Day 2: Merzouga desert tour 4×4
Today is dedicated for exploring Merzouga’s and Erg Chebbi’s desert areas. During this journey, you will have the chance to observe people’s lifestyle when you visit the village of Khamlia. In this village, you can see Gnawa musicians. Later on, we will drive to Rissani where we will Berber pizza for lunch. Back to Merzouga, we will start our camel excursion. We will ride camels, guided by an experienced man, to camp in the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. In a nomad tent, where dinner will be served, you will spend the overnight. Near to the camp, you will have the opportunity to listen to Gnawa music and drums being played around the campfire under the undless stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
Early enough, you will wake up to see the reathtaking sunrise over the lovely sand dunes. To your hotel in Merzouga, you will ride camels back to have breakfast and take a refreshing shower. Leaving Merzouga, we will make our way to Dades Valley. On our way, we will cross the palm trees of Touroug and Tinjdad before we stop to visit Todra Gorges. They are the highest and the narrowest gorges in Morocco, and one of the favorite places for hikers. Before we proceed with our journey to Dades Valley, we will take a walk in the beautiful gorges of Todgha and have lunch at one of the local restaurants. Your accommodation for the overnight is in Dades Valley.
Day 4: Dades Gorge – El Kelaa Magona – Skoura – Ouarzazate
We will take a stroll in the gorges of Dades after having breakfast at your accommodation. After that, the journey takes us to visit the nomad caves. The day continues through El Kelaa Magona (the Valley of Roses), and Skoura’s oasis before we arrive at Ouarzazate.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
At your hotel, you will have breakfast before we head to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The journey will continue to visit the village of Telouet and Kasbah el Glaoui. Before we drive through the amazing pass of Tizi N’Tichka to Marrakech, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.
After reaching the destination, you will stay at a local hotel.
Day 6: Marrakech – Essaouira – Marrakech
Essouira is the city we will visit today. On our way, you will have the opportunity to enjoy seeing Argan trees being climbed by goats looking for food. We will also be able to to visit women’s co-operatives and observe how they extract Argan oil. After we arrive at Essaouira, we will visit the Mdina (the old city). It is fortified by great and ancient walls. In this historical, you will visit the traditional fisihing port. After we finish exploring Essouira, we will drive back to Marrakech in the evening.
